Work directly within an office in the Trinity Student Affairs Division to ensure that the core Trinity University values are celebrated in the academic, professional, and social development of each student. Student Affairs cultivates an inclusive and engaging campus experience to form new relationships, encounter new ideas and develop the students mind, body and spirit. The Orientation Graduate Assistant will work directly with the Assistant Director for Orientation and Transitions in the department of Student Inclusion and Belonging to provide support for the development and implementation of Tiger Takeoff (summer orientation), New Tiger Orientation (fall orientation), and Spring New Tiger Orientation. The Assistant's duties will include student supervision, event management, communication, and the development and implementation of student leader training. The Orientation Programs Assistant is a member of the Student Inclusion and Belonging team and has shared responsibility for the achievement of departmental goals and assessment initiatives.Summary

Demonstrate experience in student programming, supervision, event management, leadership development, and marketing.
Articulate best practices and strategies for event planning and management.
Develop interpersonal skills through supervision and working with campus partners.
Job Duties
Support summer and fall orientation programs: Tiger Takeoff (summer) and New Tiger Orientationend (fall).
Assist in the implementation of orientation programs.
Develop curriculum and training for 15-30 Orientation Team (O-Team) members including, but not limited to diversity, equity, and inclusion, crisis management, conflict management, team building, event management, university policy, etc.
Co-supervise the three Orientation Team captains and the two Orientation Teams: Tiger Takeoff (Summer) and New Tiger Orientation (Fall) by assisting with event planning and logistics, and on-site support for campus-wide events.
Develop assessment tools for Orientation Team training, and assist in the development of the orientation programs comprehensive assessment.
Develop marketing and promotional materials for orientation programs.
Collaborates with other Student Affairs staff and participates in the life of the University by serving on committees, attending functions, and being available for special assignments.
Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience, and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.
Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
Performs other duties as required.

Required Education
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education before start date.
Enrolled in a master's program at an accredited institution.
Required Qualifications

Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
Willingness to work with diverse populations.
Ability to maintain an appropriate degree of confidentiality.
Use and knowledge of computer, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite programs.
Use and knowledge of social media platforms and tools (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in advising, training, leadership education, counseling, and/or student programming.
An understanding of student development theory.
Proven commitment to and appreciation for issues of diversity and inclusion.
Ability to articulate issues and trends in higher education.
Experience designing and conducting assessment activities.
Ability to take on assigned tasks with a high level of creativity, independence, and initiative.
