We are looking for a competent Security Officer to undertake the surveillance of our premises and protection of our people and property.

Responsibilities

• Patrol premises regularly on foot patrol and mobile patrol
• Monitor and authorize use of vehicles
• Remove trespassers from the area
• Secure all exits, doors and windows during each tour
• Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
• Investigate people for suspicious activity
• Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
• Provide assistance to people in need
• Place necessary calls to appropriate authorities ( police or fire service ) in case of emergency
• Maintain written reports
• Provide assistance to both employees, students and guests in a friendly and polite manner
• Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences

Skills

• Proven experience as security officer or guard or willingness to learn
• Familiarity with report writing
• Excellent surveillance and observation skills
• Experience in surveillance systems
• High School diploma is required
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Clean criminal background ( No felony convictions)
• Common sense
• Ability to stay calm when situations develop, ability to evaluate any given situation properly, Possess good analytical skills
• Punctual
• Must be able to operate radio and telephone equipment, this is important in dispatching duties efficiently
• Good decision-making skills
• Must be proactive in nature, Must be able to act fast whenever necessary
• Must have good interpersonal skills, ( a people person )
• Have an eye and ear for detail
• Possess good communication skills, both listen and in writing

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
