Trinity, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks an Assistant Director of Financial Aid. Trinity emphasizes excellence and innovation in teaching and learning across a full range of liberal arts and professional disciplines in undergraduate and graduate education. As such, we are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge, who understands and will support Trinity’s mission, is able to prioritize when faced with several important deadlines, and most importantly works well in a team environment.

The Assistant Director of Financial Aid joins a dynamic Enrollment Services team responsible for managing financial aid, billing, educational financing, student records, and related services for all Trinity students. The Assistant Director of Financial Aid will manage the operation of PowerFAIDS, the student financial aid management system, and is responsible for the management of Federal financial aid programs.

This position will report to the Vice President of Enrollment Services. Working hours: 9am -7pm on weekdays and 8am to 2pm on Saturdays.

Education Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Level & Type of Experience:

  • Customer Service experience in an office environment required
  • Experience in a university environment in financial aid is required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of personal computer and mainframe applications
  • Ability and commitment to providing quality student-centered service
  • Ability to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers and students
  • Ability to give presentations to groups regarding the college enrollment process
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, employees, and administration
  • Ability to prepare financial and other statistical reports
  • Ability to use a computer, standard office software, and automated office equipment
  • Knowledge of federal financial aid programs and familiarity with a university environment preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
