Main Duties & Responsibilities Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed. 8:00am to 5:00pm 2 - 3 years of plastic injection molding experience a must. At Omega Plastics, our Purchasing Agent provides purchasingservices to all internal departments; and maintains all supply inventory levelsto ensure effective company operations, as well as regularly conductsnegotiations and price comparisons to ensure we are getting the best price,quality and lead time for each item purchased. This position plays a key partin communicating estimated delivery dates for our internal teams to relayinformation to our clients and meet production deadlines. Benefits and Pay
Specific Responsibilities:
Monitor and report on material requirements as dictated byERP software, (utilizing the Purchasing Queue) to managers, program managersand clients.
Review open purchase order report daily and follow up on anypast due items and report to the effected program manager/manager.
Generate “zero dollar” purchase orders for program managersfor customer supplied items.
Work with managers and other associates to ensureappropriate stock levels of required product and availability of outsourceservices. This includes internal, supplier-managed, customer owned, andcustomer supplied inventories.
Place purchase orders with appropriate suppliers andoutsource services and monitor orders through delivery status. Communicate withrequestors regarding delivery dates, back-ordered items or need-to-findalternative items.
Perform appropriate supplier development processes tomaintain ISO/FDA compliance and ensure highest value-added product andservices. This includes development of scorecards for critical suppliers.
Assist when needed with customer, supplier, and FDA audits.
Perform ethical negotiations with appropriate suppliers toensure maximum quality and lowest cost as part of cost-reduction activities.
Continually investigate and find better product and servicesources that conform to the quality and delivery requirements of the company.
Review operational processes and investigate cost savingssolutions to maximize throughput and profitability.
Monitor the receipt of all “inspection required” products,ensuring quality and count; logging appropriately by working with QC andreceiving.
Awareness of ISO13485, FDA, regulatory and customerrequirements
Perform monthly tracking for Supplier On Time Delivery(OTD), defective parts, (PPM) and ISO status to present quarterly to ManagementTeam
Establish relationships with existing customers, attend,track and report material status in customer meetings as required.
Match up incoming receipts with the assigned purchase orderand assist the Accounting Team with any questions and/or discrepanciesregarding payments/invoices.
Responsible for closing of tooling related jobs, runningprofitability reports, and ensuring all purchased items or services have beenreceived against the jobs prior to closing.
Provide back-up coverage for Receiving Department and AdminTeam (phones & reception) as needed.
