Main Duties & Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Operations will beresponsible for manufacturing operations, and production, The Director ofOperations will oversee manufacturing operations, supervise the OperationManager and Department Managers, and is responsible for effectively utilizingplant capacities and optimizing manufacturing costs and quality. The role requires the ability to maintainflexibility, develop fluid plans, and understand the need to change priorities.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:
Assist with making decisions for operationalactivities and setting strategic goals.
Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of themanufacturing facility.
Review financial information and adjust operationalbudgets to promote profitability.
Effectively implement, improve, and reinforce the company'senvironmental and product safety programs in accordance with company policiesand procedures.
Develop, coach and counsel department managers andsupervisors to meet goals, objectives and instill company's core values.
Demonstrate an adequate technical understanding ofplant machinery, equipment and processing.
Significant interaction with existing customers; keyrole in meeting with potential customers to determine needs and discusscapabilities.
Assist with achieving goals for shipments, on-time delivery,past dues, inventory and sales.
Work closely with engineering, sales, and customers toensure they can provide solutions and drive new business.
Drive continuous improvement by improving standardsand processes in all phases of the operations cycle.
Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards,systems and processes.
Ensure the financial targets are achieved.
Oversee the work of direct reports, ensuring they areeffectively producing quality work.
Develops the manufacturing plan and establishesprocedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensurethat products conform to established customer quality standards.
The pay scale for this position ranges from $128,100.00-185,000.00 annually
Qualifications
OTHER COMPETENCIES:
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, andinterpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technicalprocedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and proceduremanuals. Ability to effectively presentinformation and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, andcustomers.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematicalconcepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals ofplane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, andproportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems,collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety oftechnical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with severalabstract and concrete variables.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to readand understand blueprints.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully,an individual should have knowledge of Design software; Development software; Manufacturingsoftware; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software, Word Processingsoftware and Microsoft Office Suite Applications
Education and/or Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Industrial,Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineer, or related field. Ten years related experience, or cumulativecombination of education and experience. Minimum of five (5) years' experience with management responsibility ina high-volume manufacturing environment with methods, processing and MRPexposure. Must have Fasterners experience.
