Trimark Associates, Inc. is Hiring a Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Renewable Energy Near Norfolk, VA

The Opportunity

Join our Engineering and Design team as a Design Engineer to work on exciting renewable energy projects across the US. We are growing our team and seeking a skilled engineer for the design and development of components, panels, systems and equipment (mechanical or electrical) using 2D CAD software.

The Team

You will report to our Director of Engineering and Design and work in collaboration with a small team of 3-5 engineers. You will also cross-collaborate across the organization with our System Integrators, Project Managers, Production Team, and other stakeholders.

The Environment

The team works in a flex-based model, based in our Folsom, CA Headquarter office with the option for remote work 2 days/week. Some travel to job sites will be required on occasion.

This job may also be flex-based from our Norfolk, VA production facility.

Growth & Development

In this role you will build cross-departmental relationships, elevate your knowledge of solar and renewable energy, and work in collaboration with the brightest minds in renewable technology.

Your Key Contributions

  • Perform engineering calculations such as UPS and battery bank sizing, fiber optic link losses; enclosure heating and air conditioner sizing;
  • Evaluate and specify products to meet the technical requirements of the project;
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects;
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications;
  • Develop project/product designs and drawings, maintain revisions, modify as required and ensure all drawings comply with engineering drawing practices, standards and with applicable client or regulatory guidelines;
  • Read, create, and detail line diagrams and schematics for fabrication;
  • Meet design deadlines and communicate any issues with appropriate parties;
  • Create mark-ups to communicate revisions and corrections with CAD designers;
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support;
  • Partner with Trimark’s procurement and production departments to create and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) on new/existing drawings.

Traits for Success

  • 5 years related experience and/or training preferred;
  • University graduate from an electrical engineering or design-related curriculum
  • Proficient with AutoCAD 2D
  • Understanding of basic AC/DC electrical theory as it relates to design drawing and applicable electrical codes and standards
  • Possess excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems
  • Must be detail oriented

Pay Transparency

This announcement is open to Senior candidates. The base pay range for this position is $117,380-138,800, with starting salary typically in the low to mid-range for the job level. This is an overtime Exempt position. Compensation is based on market rate, job level, job related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and certifications. This is a Full Time opportunity.
