About the Opportunity:

The Therapeutic Classroom Milieu Therapist in the Day Treatment Program are responsible for creating and guiding the therapeutic plans and case management of the assigned clients.

Position Location: Portland Metro, OR

Position Time/Hours: 40/hours week (2 Openings) - Schedule: TBD

Salary Starts at $60,000/year-unlicensed -$64,800/year-licensed.

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

  • Provide risk and safety assessment for immediate access to crisis resources.
  • Build an alliance between Trillium and school system in order to support students seamlessly.
  • Provide individualized school-based services as indicated, based on client need.
  • Identify systems issues obstructing needs of students, fostering creative problem-solving strategies.
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary treatment/behavior strategy meetings, including giving a mental health lens to IEP meetings and other school meetings.
  • Develop a case conceptualize of students, ensuring that a biopsychosocial approach is taken to ensure that interventions are appropriate.
  • Develop and implement behavior/treatment plans with emphasis on helping students move successfully from the therapeutic classroom to mainstream classrooms.
  • Provide supervision, consultation, and guidance to skills trainers.
  • Maintain records as determined by Trillium Family Services
  • Working with school staff, identify and facilitate needed classroom groups.
  • Work in partnership with supervisor to develop ways to measure success of the program and progress of the students, including maintaining records of data.
  • Provide conflict resolution and crisis intervention as needed in situations involving students who are aggressive or destructive, following OP guidelines to not engage in physical holds.
  • Provide de-escalation and debrief strategies to school staff that are involved in physical interventions.
  • Provide case management as needed to help students and their families get needed resources.
  • Provide facilitation and psychoeducation to school staff to support trauma-informed practices, including training all teachers in school system.

About You:

Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other field which qualifies the candidate to be a licensed professional counselor/clinical social worker/ psychologist or marriage & family therapist in the State of Oregon. Masters-level, Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP); must be familiar with family systems; licensure preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Eligible for certification in the State of Oregon as a licensed professional counselor/ clinical social worker/ psychologist or marriage & family therapist. Once hired, the Therapeutic Classroom Milieu Clinician must agree to begin the certification process to become certified as a licensed social worker/counselor within 3 months from the date of hire to be completed within 24 months.

Experience: Two years experience in an outpatient mental health treatment facility, or hospital, residential or day treatment settings providing counseling services to children, adolescents, and families.
