Job Description

POSITION:

ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT OF CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION

POSITION SUMMARY:

To plan, organize, manage, and direct the instructional service programs; to plan, organize, design, and implement curriculum and instructional programs and activities to ensure optimal educational opportunities and growth experiences; to plan, organize, and direct professional development activities; to assist in the planning, development, and implementation of policies, regulations, and the strategies for achieving District goals and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Appropriate Kentucky certification

Experience and other qualifications as the superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO:

Superintendent

SUPERVISES:

Director of Special Education, Instructional Supervisors, Career and Technical Education Supervisor, Gifted and Talented Coordinator, College and Career Planner, District Mental Health Counselor Social Emotional Specialist, and clerical staff.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as an advisor to the superintendent and district personnel pertaining to the various aspects of curriculum and instruction design and delivery.

Provide leadership and expertise in assessing, identifying, formulating, and implementing the district educational goals

Provide leadership in the development of processes, strategies, and feasibility planning to ensure that the necessary human and monetary resources are appropriately utilized in order to achieve the district's planned

Plan, organize, develop, and assess the district's progress toward the achievement of master educational planning goals

Plan, organize, and direct the district curriculum, and instruction design and development programs, instructional delivery systems, and the strategies and techniques for achieving optimal educational and instructional

Plan, organize, and direct research and development activities, including research and development, and the planning and forecasting of future instructional service

Organize and direct the preparation of a variety of management reports in order to ensure thorough, complete, and effective communication and information
