The Lead Accountant is responsible to lead daily operations of the accounting department, e nsuring financial records are accurate, and compliance with legal requirements is maintained .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining contracts with clients
- Assist with corporate credit card, expense/travel program, and fuel card program
- Review all expense reports for non-reimbursable credit card activity for accounting approval
- Responsible for financial month end tasks related to the areas of responsibilities; including reconciling GL accounts, recording accruals and reviewing accounts for accuracy.
- Assist with preparation, distribution, and reconciling of monthly cost center reports to managers.
- Capable of analyzing financial data, to reason and reach conclusions with minimum guidance.
- Highly competent and experienced in the principles and application of accounting principles.
- Mastery knowledge of Microsoft Excel and working knowledge with the remaining MS suite of products (i.e., PowerPoint, and Word).
- A team player who possesses problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- Responsible to lead daily operations of the Accounting Department, to include:
- month and end-year process
- accounts payable/receivable
- cash receipts
- general ledger
- payroll and time & attendance
- revenue and expenditure variance analysis
- reconciliations
- fixed asset activity
- travel & expense system
- license, permits, utilities
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain positive relationships with other employees and customers
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- The Lead Accountant is a full-time salaried exempt role that reports directly to the Corporate Accounting Manager.
