Role: Entertainment Rights Business Analyst

Location: 10 UNIVERSAL CITY PLAZA Building 1440, Universal City, CA 91608

Duration: 6 Months W2 Contarct

Pay Rate: $60 to $66/Hr on W2

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
• Typically has 3 to 5 years of relevant technical or business work experience.
• SQL is necessary, Data mapping, data reviews, and analysis is helpful. If they can build data models, that is good too as that is the core of it.
• Good communication and people skills. If they’ve worked in places where they’ve done big data (ecommerce, etc.) it would be helpful but the specific industry is not necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
• Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities.
• Analyzes business partner’s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
• Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
• Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.
• Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business.
• Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.
• Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge.
• May make recommendations for buy versus build decision.

• Top skills for the role - Knowledge of media entertainment Rights, distribution Rights, media and entertainment contract.
• Soft skills - team players, open minded and friendly. work with 3 teams; product/engineering/business. The HM feedback on recent candidates was that they are not well versed with Rights logic. HM is trying to find someone with a balance who is a good PM less handholding, not an actual PM but a Sr. business analyst has a very good foundation on Technical Rights. If you find someone with more Rights exp and less PM experience the HM is okay with that.
