Earn a career-worthy wage at a fun 10-week Day Camp! Play with awesome local kids in the beautiful Los Gatos Mountains on our private forest property. We hire and train new camp counselors (Mentors) to work alongside our experienced staff who return each summer.

The Tribal Wisdom Academy Forest Playground was built by kids during the past 10 summers. And the kids need you for guidance in safety, as they build treehouses and invent wooden toys. The TWA Camp is a 50-acres of horse farm and wild forest where kids and Mentors experience the historic wonder and joy of outdoor childhood.

10 fun job positions available in 2024:

• Counselor ("Mentor") for ages 5 to 7, and includes daily time with the horses.
• Counselor ("Mentor") for ages 8 to 10, in the main Treehouse Village.
• Counselor ("Mentor") for ages 11 to 12, in the Camp Alumni Village.
• Assistant Program Director ($25 to $28) for the Horse and Nature Camp.
• Staff Supervisor ($28 to $30) for 20 to 35 Mentors who are mostly college-age.

• No overnights, and no required work on your summer weekends! (And after work it is a short drive to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk). Most work shifts will end between 2:15pm to 3:15pm daily. So staff can have an epic California summer every afternoon and on all weekends.
• This job is located in the cool California coastal mountains just 10-minutes from the town of Los Gatos, and half-way to Santa Cruz on Hwy-17, (and not up any small roads).
• The main job begins on June 10 until August 9, 2024 (or work 1 or 2 weeks more).
• Mentor Staff Training is on the weekend of June 8 or 9 if you are available.
• Plus get a June 29 to July 7 holiday vacation break to have time with your family and friends!
• END-of-Summer-BONUS!! Mentor Staff who are scheduled to work the 10 entire camp weeks will qualify to earn a bonus of $50 to $100 per week. Getting a $1,000. bonus is comparable to being paid an extra $3 per hour all summer! And if your college requires that you to miss a week or two of summer work, we can offer a potential $100 to $300 end-of-summer bonus for completing all contracted weeks.
• The 2024 base pay is $18 to $20 per hour, with some positions $25 to $30.
• This fun job is 24 to 40 hours per week for up to 10 weeks. Get more hours if you are a quick learner. Earn up to $5,000 to over $9,000 every summer!

Qualifications:

• Must be age 17 . (But 90% of our staff are college students).
• This is also a great summer job for retired school teachers or woodworkers.
• Great if you have experience with children.
• Must have excellent situational awareness while supervising children.
• Be patient and reliable.
• Make sure all safety rules are followed.
• Ensure that campers respect nature.
• Must have an energetic and positive personality.
• Trainable in fun outdoor games and crafts.
• Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds if needed.
• Ability to walk with kids up steep hills in our Forest Adventure Park.
• All staff will need reliable transportation, or join a carpool with other staff.
