    POSITION TITLE: Network Technician
    CONTRACT PERIOD: 260 days per year
    REPORTS TO: Director of Technology Services & Information Technology Manager
    POSITION SUMMARY: The Network Technician will be responsible for supporting the mission of the Triad School District by diagnosing, troubleshooting, coordinating and resolving IT system related incidents. The person in this role will additionally install, configure and maintain multiple IT systems that pertain to the network infrastructure, system devices, workstations, and end users.
    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provide deployment, support, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all district technology
    including laptops, desktops, chromebooks, tablets, projectors, printers, and all other devices found in a typical school environment.
    • Responsible for analyzing, installing, configuring, and maintaining network servers and switches.
    • Run and terminate cabling for network access.
    • Create and manage users and equipment in various software systems, such as Google Workspace and Active Directory.
    • Respond to technology requests by telephone, email, and in-person, and actively maintain help desk tickets, prioritize tasks, and communicate resolutions in a timely manner.
    • Assist in maintaining the district’s technology inventory.
    • Set-up and breakdown technology for district meetings, trainings, and events.
    • Perform related duties as assigned by the Information Technology Manager or the Director of Technology Services.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • CCNA or CompTIA Network certification or relevant experience
    • Experience with operating and configuring Windows server and desktop environments
    • Experience with the concepts, configuration, and deployment of WLANs
    • Experience supporting technology or providing quality customer service in a non-technical
    field with an aptitude for supporting and maintaining computer and software systems
    • Basic knowledge of technical equipment and current software
    • Basic computer and software troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to work in a school setting and maintain confidentiality
    • Excellent interpersonal relations, communication, customer service and organizational skills
    • Evidence of good judgment, trustworthiness, flexibility, and emotional maturity
    • Ability to work professionally in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment, and
    to keep pace with changing technology
    Working Conditions: This is a full-time position that will include 260 working days, vacation time, and health benefits. Hours will mostly be during the day but can occasionally flex to the afternoon and/or evening to perform system maintenance or other tasks as needed. Physical requirements include some lifting, bending and climbing. Vehicle required and must be able to travel to different locations.
