Job Description:

Triad High School, located in Troy, Illinois, is hiring a full-time choir director to join the music faculty starting in August 2023. This position will be teamed with the Triad Middle School choir director, assisting the middle school choral program, and co-directing the Triad Children’s Chorus. The middle school and high school music department consists of five collaborative staff members who work closely together to teach approximately 500 students enrolled in music courses.

Triad High School serves the communities of Marine, St. Jacob, and Troy with a current enrollment of approximately 1175 students. For several years, the THS choral program has experienced many successes that include earning consistent first ratings at the IHSA Organizational Festivals as well as being selected to perform at the prestigious 2016 Choirs of America National Festival at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

There are four curricular choirs at Triad High School that rehearse during the school day. Additionally, Triad offers opportunities to teach and lead extracurricular ensembles and programs, such as the spring musical. Students in the curricular ensembles perform multiple concerts each semester as well as participate in regional and state festivals. Several enrichment opportunities (guest clinicians, guest artists, festivals, trips, etc.) are supported by our district and choral booster organization.

In addition to an emphasis in vocal pedagogy, it is preferred that candidates be highly proficient in piano.
