The Risk Manager is responsible foroverseeing risk management activities company-wide, including managing the comprehensive insurance, claims, and risk management processes. Identifies, assesses, manages, and remediates company-wide risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Owns and drives relationships with key business stakeholder(s) to understand their internal processes and identify potential risks.
• Develops cohesive policies, standard operating procedures, controls, monitoring, and reporting with the goal of improving operations, compliance policies, and risk management.
• Drives process improvements, including the resolution of risk identification and the execution of projects originating from internal assessments.
• Responsible for the planning and designing all lines of insurance (worker’s compensation, property, general liability, auto, cyber, EPL, D&O).
• Selects brokers and carriers for all insurances and serves as the intermediary between all carriers and brokers.
• Negotiates insurance contracts and selects carriers for each exposure.
• Files insurance claims (except worker’s compensation).
• Gathers estimates, billing, etc., from internal and external vendors in order to file damages to third parties.
• Creates and maintains existing vertically-integrated and comprehensive risk management and retention programs.
• Provides support for all departments on safety and compliance.
• Evaluates claims, accidents, and loss runs for trends and advises management accordingly.
• Establishes processes to minimize risk, both physical and employee-related.
• Provides training for safety, risk, and employee-related risks, when requested.
• Serves as point-person between company and OSHA, DOT, and other government entities as their regulations apply.
• Files appropriate reports for risk-related government entities.
• Serves as corporate contact for all non-operational litigation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Business Law, HR, or a related field
• 5 years’ of prior corporate Risk Management experience
• Or, any equivalent combination of education and experience in job-related activities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Licensed Insurance Producer
• Prior experience in the C-Store, energy, retail, and/or hospitality industries
