SUMMARY OF POSITION
Allen Morgan Health and Rehab needs an experienced RN to help out on the Medicare floor for rehab patients.The RN at Allen Morgan Health Center must be able to provide professional nursing care according to ANA Standards of Nursing Practice in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards and administrative policies. This position is for 3pm-11pm, Monday - Friday. They must have excellent skills and show an ability to lead and get along with all types of people while maintaining the standards needed. Being a team player is a must and having the experience to be able to adjust to many different situations in the environment is needed. Med Surgery experience and LTC experience will serve this candidate well in our environment. A SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL OF $2 IS ASSIGNED TO THIS SHIFT TOO.
PRIMARY DUTIES
1. Administer medications (p.o. IM, Subq), manage all types of IV's effectively (central lines, PICC lines), perform special care tasks and treatments such as catheterization (foley), G tube insertions, tube care and suction, operations of specialty beds, dressing changes as ordered per Trezevant policy;
2. Operate necessary equipment properly to carry out physician orders;
3. Identify basic physical and psychological needs and plan appropriate nursing interventions;
4. Process medical and nursing orders according to Trezevant's policies and procedures;
5. Intervene according to facility policy and procedure in emergency or life threatening situations;
6. Report timely with pertinent data in a concise manner between outgoing and incoming shifts;
7. Independently accountable for own actions, requiring minimal supervision;
8. Supervise ancillary nursing staff effectively;
9. Collaborate with other members of the health care team to promote quality resident care and assume responsibility for the care given under their direct supervision;
10. Plan appropriate nursing interventions and chart timely and effectively with significant and meaningful observations of the residents while always reflecting nursing process and delivery of resident care;
11. Assess and identify resident problems, symptoms and behavioral changes and organizing the daily nursing routine for unit;
12. confer with physicians and other health care professionals as needed to promote quality resident care;
LICENSE/QUALIFICATIONS
1. State of TN or multi-state license as an Registered Nurse, in good standing.
2. Must possess a current CPR certification.
