Qualifications: Appropriate Certification by the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA)

Prior cheer coaching experience required

Reports to: Athletic Director

Supervises: Participating students

Goal: To help students achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation of discipline and sportsmanship and an increased level of self-esteem.

Responsibilities:

• Have a working knowledge of MSHSAA rules, event procedures and coaching technique.
• Organize and schedule practice.
• Distribute and collect and inventory all required equipment.
• Organize fundraising.
• Establish performance criteria for participation.
• Organize presentation of awards and banquet at the end of the season.
• Ensure transportation to events.
• Attend all events.
• Attend appropriate sideline training.
• Keep and complete all appropriate records.
• Keep Athletic Director informed of appropriate issues.
• Make decisions for the best interests of the District and within Board policies and CSIP objectives.
• Promote positive relations between the building, District, Board and community.
• Execute all policies, rules and regulations adopted by the Board.
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Terms of employment: Contract established by the Board - generally the sport's season

A criminal fingerprint/background clearance is required.
