Qualifications: Appropriate Nursing License from Missouri State Board of Nursing; Registered Nurse preferred.

Reports to: Building Principal.

Goal: To create and promote a climate of health and wellness. 

• Conduct school health services, including exams and assessments.
• Report to parents/guardians, personnel, physicians and other agencies on school medical matters.
• Work cooperatively with county Health Department and other agencies as needed.
• Maintain current health records for student/staff including immunizations.
• In the absence of a physician, assume medical care of students or staff.
• Participate in and act as resource for all school wellness.
• Contact family of students referred by the Principal.
• Document accidents/incidents and services.
• Keep a daily log of activities.
• Authorize exclusion and readmission of students in compliance with policy on infectious and contagious diseases.
• Execute all policies, rules and regulations adopted by the Board.
• Promote positive relations between the District, Board and community.
• Attend all required meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Terms of employment: Contract to be established by the Board - Generally 182 days.

Evaluation: Annual by the by the Principal in accordance with policy.

A criminal fingerprint/background clearance is required.
