Trenton Psychiatric Hospital is an inpatient psychiatric hospital serving a diverse population of adults with severe and persistent mental illness and forensic issues. The AHA 1 candidate must be an innovative leader with strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing operations and a passion for education and staff engagement. The candidate will participate in creation of evidenced-based policies and procedures, provide operational leadership and representation to the CEO and Executive Management Committee, and be responsible for ensuring that all work units within the facility are in compliance with Joint Commission and all accrediting surveys/government agencies standards/regulations. The AHA 1 is a foundational part of a dynamic team of nursing leaders overseeing nursing clinical care and treatment of our psychiatric patients. EDUCATION:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degreein Hospital Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, BusinessAdministration or Mental Health Administration, Psychology, Social Work,Nursing, Rehabilitation, or related field.EXPERIENCE:Five (5) years of administrative experience managing a significant service ofprogram in a psychiatric or general hospital, large mental health facility, orsocial services agency dealing with the mentally ill.NOTE: Applicants who do not possess a Master's degree may substituteone (1) year of additional experience as indicated above.NOTE: In the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, appointees may berequired to possess a valid nursing license issued by the State of New Jersey.LICENSE:Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.*Special Note* - This position, under the direction of the CEO, will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of services by direct care staff at the hospital, including but not limited to the Nursing department. As such, only candidates possessing a current professional license as a Registered Nurse valid in the State of New Jersey will be given consideration.
