Pay level Dependent upon experience ($25-$32Hr)

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Preform preventative maintenance and repairs on ground support equipment such as tugs, vehicles, beltloader, air conditioning units, airstart units, ground power units, water and lavatory carts in a timely manner.

Preform rebuilding of tugs, vehicles, beltloader, air conditioning units, airstart units, ground power units, water and lavatory carts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Inspect and maintain ground support equipment used in operations.
• Troubleshoot, repair and/or overhaul ground support equipment.
• Diagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manuals.
• Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements
• Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
• Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
• Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
• Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
• Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
• Keep logs of work and report on issues
• Completion of GSE paperwork as required.
• Mentor level I and II techs.
• Other duties as assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED

Have 4 years of GSE mechanical verified experience or 5 years heavy mechanical experience.

Have great working knowledge of diesel, gas engines and various transmissions.

Have a great working knowledge of electrical systems.

Have a great working knowledge of hydraulic systems.

Have an excellent troubleshooting ability.

Must have your own tools.

Must possess valid driver’s license.

Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
Must be able to work a variety of assigned shifts including evenings and weekends. Subject to emergency call-in.
