Applicant must be flexible in receiving assignments and adapting to changes in the program. Applicant should have a warm and supportive attitude and disposition toward working with children.
Positions available: Infant teachers (opening/closing); Toddler teachers (opening/closing); Two's teachers (opening/closing); Preschool teachers (opening/closing); & School Age teachers (opening/closing) - details of each position will be given during the interview process.
Overview:
-- Coordinates a classroom for the age group that you are assigned to
-- Positively communicates with parents and team members
-- Performs a variety of activities that ensures age appropriate learning
-- Maintains health and safety of the group
-- Reports to the director
Specific Duties of the Job:
-- Enthusiastically greets and engages parents at drop-off and pick up times
-- Maintains a positive relationship with parents
-- Talks to the parents everyday about the child's day
-- Creates a soft, calm, safe, and loving environment
-- Feeds and diapers children as needed; Potty trains children who are ready
-- Follows the center's policies and procedures
-- Writes accident/incident reports
-- Works cooperatively with coworkers, director, and assistant director
-- Maintains confidentiality and follows the center's Social Media Policy
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Requirements:
-- Knowledge of growth process of the children you are assigned to
-- Knowledge of activities that stimulate the age group of the children you are assigned
-- Knowledge of safety issues surrounding the age group to which you are assigned
-- Skills in patience
-- Skills in positive communication
-- Skills in time management
-- Ability to organize environment
-- Ability to move and react quickly
-- Ability to remain interactive throughout the day
-- Ability to accept feedback and execute program professionally
-- Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. numerous times a day.
-- Must be able to lift and carry children.
-- Must be able to stand 95% of the time.
-- Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run.
-- Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with children and parents
-- Must maintain a minimum number of continuing education hours (30) each year.
Qualifications:
--The teacher must be 16 years of age or older to meet the state licensing age requirement
--Loves working with children and willing to grow and learn through on/off site professional development training
