White Light Behavioral Health, a part of National Behavioral Health provider TreatmentX is opening a new location in Columbus, OH. White Light provides a full continuum of care treatment model for adults with substance use disorder in Ohio.

Behavioral Health Tech opportunities available - all shifts - Day, Evening, Nights & Weekends.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The primary role of the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is in providing direct and support services to patients experiencing substance use/mental health disorder. Specifically, the two main functions of the BHT are 1) supervision of the clients for safety and 2) ensuring their participation in treatment related services and facilitating psycho-educational and recreational activities. Additionally, BHT are responsible for creating and maintaining a therapeutic environment and related initiatives. BHT will be required to transport clients to and from treatment facilities, housing, and various needs within the community, ensuring a safe and professional experience. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Accountable for leading a WE CARE culture that focuses on our mission to provide a transformational influence to patients and their loved ones. 
  • Assists in the organization of the daily and weekly structure for patients.
  • Oversees patients and ensure needs are being met while in treatment.
  • Utilizes company vehicle to transports patients to and from appointments and meetings, when necessary.
  • Orients new patients to the facility.
  • Orients and enforces company’s rules and regulations for new admissions.
  • Facilitates groups when necessary.
  • Observe and supervise medication administration 
  • Maintain accurate medication logs and records utilizing an EMR.
  • Offer clients support based upon the application of the 12 Steps in real life situations 
  • Offering and implementing various growth opportunities 
  • Observe patient behavior assessing whether it enhances or diminishes the recovery process
  • Redirection of behavior which impedes the recovery process
  • Directly involved with the Admission process of a new patient and the discharge process for patients, this includes doing a property search, a search of the patient,, completing all paperwork and uploading into the EMR and assisting the Admissions Coordinator 
  • Leading groups, taking notes and logging information into the EMR when necessary
  • Evaluates quality of program on an ongoing basis.
  • Facilitates communication with ancillary services.
  • Attends meetings to integrate inter-departmental sharing of information.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, clinical staff and medical staff.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
  • Follows Infection Control Guidelines at all times.
  • Reports personal symptoms of suspected illness or contagious diseases to the Director of Nursing.
  • Completes and forwards copy of Incident Reports and any other safety/risk issues immediately to a supervisor.
  • Provides a safe, therapeutic environment for staff and patients.
  • Provides a daily report on the rounds made that shift, to the designated Manager.
  • Ensures the property and all living areas are clean, sanitary, and disinfected on a daily basis.
  • Conducts observed CLIA waived tests as required, i.e. Urine Drug Screen
  • Facilitates client’s rules and responsibilities. Reports non-compliance to a Supervisor.
  • Ensure all bathrooms are clean, sanitary, and disinfected on a daily basis.
  • Ensure the property is safe for all clients on a daily basis and ensure safety issues are handled immediately.
  • Ensure there are adequate soap, paper towels, body wash, shampoo, towels, and other necessities for all clients.
  • Be familiar with fire drill policy/plan, and disaster policy/plan.
  • Be compliant with directives from management, therapists, and medical staff.
  • Adhere to all state, federal, and local confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Transportation of patients to and from various locations within Our Company facilities and scheduled community outings.
  • Supports and follows the daily transportation schedules, navigates correct and efficient routes, and provide all passengers with a safe and comfortable transportation service. 
  • Responsible for following CDC guidelines, wear proper PPE and ensuring all passengers wear proper PPE during all transports.
  • Follow all traffic laws, drive defensively to ensure safety.
  • Monitor fuel gauges to ensure you can reach your destination. 
  • Ensure that vehicle maintenance is completed, documented, and reported to supervisor.
  • Navigate correct and efficient routes.
  • Solve and report any passenger complaints or issues.
  • Keep all windows in the vehicle clean and clear.
  • Keep the interior of the vehicle clean.
  • Keep an accurate log of fuel levels, miles for each trip, and other data.
  • Any other duties required by supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Graduation from High School or GED preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 2 - 4 years experience in a similar position or similar function preferred. 1 year as driver, prior BHT experience preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Maintains current CPR certification.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:

  • Good communication skills

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Great time management skills 
  • Great customer attitude and attentiveness 
  • Ability to operate a vehicle for 8 or more hours
