Responsibilities

TRC is seeking a Survey Technician / Project Surveyor to join the Survey Division in our Richmond, Virginia office. The role of the Survey Technician includes processing surveying data, compiling deliverables, coordination and collaboration with survey team members, engineers, and clients. This position requires an individual with knowledge of Land Surveying practices and techniques, as well as experience using AutoCAD Civil3D and/or Carlson Civil Suite.

Job Duties:

  • Use of AutoCAD - Carlson Survey to process survey data - develop base mapping.
  • Produce survey deliverables including but not limited to topographic, ALTA, boundary - utility surveys.
  • Produce survey plats.
  • Develop construction stakeout upload files and hard sheets for survey crews.
  • Effectively communicate with internal - external stakeholders and team members.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Preferred Minimum of 3 years of Survey Technician / CAD experience. Experienced with topographic, ALTA, and boundary surveys using AutoCAD - Carlson Survey.
  • Ability to understand construction plans.
  • Requires knowledge of both survey technology and basic civil engineering concepts.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, good mechanical, and computer skills.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Work Environment:

  • Although, this position is primarily an office and/or hybrid work from home position, candidates may be required to attend TRC activities, conduct field surveys, travel to and from project sites, courthouses, client sites and other similar industry requirements.
