Overview

TRC is seeking experienced and highly skilled Construction Inspectors with a preferred background in airside construction located at our Rancho Cordova, CA office. As a Construction Inspector, you will perform moderately complex quality control inspection activities on your assigned projects and/or functional areas to ensure that products or services provided are in accordance with customer and TRC requirements. In this role you will help drive an exciting expansion project that will reshape the Airport to accommodate projected passenger growth over the next seven years including a pedestrian walkway, terminals, parking garage, consolidated ground transportation center, and finalizing with a rental car facility. The anticipated start date for this role is September 2023.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily inspections and complete documentation including daily reports documenting contractor labor, equipment, daily construction progress, project site visitors, non-conforming work, safety issues, traffic control, field measured quantiles, field discussions with the contractor and public, and daily project photographs, etc.
  • Coordinate with clients/owners, other consultants, contractors, materials testers and others involved with the project.
  • Assist Resident Engineers and provide input on project schedule, extra work bills, potential change orders, and communication with businesses and residents.
  • Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Monitor construction for compliance with project documents including collecting and checking material tags and certificates of compliance.
  • Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with project team members and provide recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Highschool degree/GED or equivalent.
  • 2-year associate degree in relevant area is a plus.
  • 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in airside construction inspection, or 6-8 years of general construction experience.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in construction inspection applications.
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements such as CalOsha, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Regional Water Quality Control Boards, and other regulatory agencies is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint and MS Project.
  • Valid CA driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Competent verbal and written communication skills.

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $85,000 - $150,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
