Job Description

The Training and Development Coordinator reports to the Corporate HR Director and is responsible for all elements of the Learning Management System (LMS), including, the development, testing, logistics and coordination of the overall training program for the workforce across all contracts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Corporate point of contact for the LMS across the company.
  • Solely responsible for maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting all in-house LMS issues.
  • Liaison for company with LMS vendor.
  • Mapping out training plans and schedules, designing and developing training programs.
  • Responsible for day-to-day administrative tasks related to allocating training resources, projecting and analyzing training needs, quality assurance, safety, and joint related tasks, and supporting any other projects as needed.
  • Support the TRAX training program through scheduling courses, sending invitations, keeping records up to date, coordinating instructors, tracking, and reporting course accomplishment through the Army Tracking Training Module (ATTM) and the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers’ specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
  • Responsible for providing employee new hire computer-based training.
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
  • Creates and / or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
  • Conduct organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Use known education principles and stay up to date on new training methods and techniques.
  • Support and advise the management team on employees’ training needs and compliance.
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Responsible for performing audits, reviewing documentation, and observing activities, to determine whether contracts and / or individuals are conducting business in accordance with regulations and established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in forging collaboration between all contracts through relationship building and providing excellent support to their training needs.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Training and Development, or a related field required.
  • Prior system administration experience and integration with a Learning Management System (LMS such as LearnUpon or Cornerstone).
  • Proven work experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation.
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools.
  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
  • Proven ability to work independently on multiple projects concurrently with time sensitive deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility when work assignments or priorities change and a willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure the overall effectiveness of the HR function.
  • Ability to enter information into systems and prepare correspondence and documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Resourceful in accomplishing work tasks and obtaining needed information.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and priority setting skills.
  • Ability to interact in a helpful, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and level of energy required to handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential data with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Must share a commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment while simultaneously optimizing individual performance and contribution.
  • Exceptional proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat.

Desired Qualifications

HR certification(s) preferred (e.g., SHRM, HRCI, CEBS, ATD).

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment.
  • Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted.

Terms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
  • Must be able to support occasional travel (20% or less) to include overnight travel and assisting with transitioning new contracts as required.
