The Position:

American Marketing Group is looking for a Director of Education and Training to manage all professional development activities across its brands.

The successful applicant will represent American Marketing Group brands to a variety of travel industry audiences in situations such as our bi-annual Travel Market, Owners Focus Retreats, virtual training and other events. This position will be responsible for leading the development of agendas and curriculum for travel advisors and agency owners and managers at various events. In addition, the successful candidate will act as an MC when needed. The right applicant will also handle responsibilities related to our KORE Travel Education program in a back-up capacity.

To excel in this role, the successful candidate must have experience in all forms of training, including written, in-person and virtual, as well as strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is familiar with the travel industry and possesses a track record of delivering exceptional results.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Assess and identify training and development needs to enhance agency skills and performance
  • Develop strategic education and training plan for all brands
  • Oversee learning activities, curriculum and resources
  • Design, organize and lead virtual training webinars
  • Create content, contract with speakers and host live events across North America
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training aligns with objectives and organize delivery
  • Forecast and track key metrics and communicate progress against objectives
  • Provide feedback and insight on new products/services
  • Discover industry-specific trends, incorporate them into training as needed and share insights with stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of education and training experience with track record of success
  • Minimum three years of travel industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Personal initiative to transcend the ordinary with strong motivation to set and achieve goals
  • Skilled collaborator with impeccable interpersonal abilities who builds relationships with respect and integrity
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in fast-moving atmosphere and meet deadlines
  • Superior listening, influence and presentation skills
  • Clear, confident and persuasive communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong leader with entrepreneurial outlook and future-oriented perspective
  • Strategic mindset, solid judgment and proactive problem-solver
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
