This position reports into the Department Manager. Your particular language skill will allow you to finalize the end product before it goes to the client. Description: Proofread all translated documents for grammar, punctuation and spelling errorsFormat all translated documents to mirror the original source documentGive feedback to Project Manager re translated text in the form of a Q scoreSuggest subjective changes regarding style, smoothness, and feel of translated documentsUtilize reference materials to maintain consistency across projects for individual clientsCreate glossaries for individual clients to complement reference materialsOperate computer assisted translation (CAT) tools to improve efficiencyEfficiently maintains formal disciplined operations procedures across a variety of client projectsTrack project-specific non-conformances and resolutionsAssist with making new department processes while improving on existing ones (improve productivity, profitability)Maintain strong relationships with contract translators, editors, and proofreadersInvestigate client complaints regarding translations – holding both freelance and full-time employees accountableBe responsible for any errors/omissions associated with their translation projectsTrack and report on company-wide quality metricsJuggle overlapping projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentPerform other special projects or duties when requiredQualificationsRequires a four-year degree or higher, preferably in a foreign languageExcellent communication (written and verbal) skills in Spanish (native fluency) and EnglishAbility to support multiple projects by keeping accurate and up-to-date project specsExcellent problem solving skillsAbility to maintain professionalism in all situations, especially under tight deadlinesSatisfactory results on company testsMinimum passing grade (subject to individual language) on appropriate foreign language test, as applicable Desired Skills:Prior translation industry experienceExperience with Trados or SDLXAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
