Job Summary The Backup Administrator is responsible for the engineering, administration, monitoring, and management of the on-premise and cloud backup systems. Maintaining and documenting disaster recovery strategies and plans for Enterprise systems are also a part of the Backup Administrator's duties. In addition to the backup environment, the backup administrator will assist with infrastructure tasks, including virtualization, data center operations, and monitoring. Job Description Key Roles & Responsibilities Responsible for the engineering, administering, configuring, and deploying all backup and recovery solutions for corporate datacenters, offshore fleet, and cloud services. Analyze complex hardware and software related issues associated with back-up related technologies. Develops technical documentation to include installation guidelines, policy configuration, and alerting. Trains other team members on standard operation procedures and installation. Perform daily monitoring and management of all backup related activities, executing backup jobs, troubleshooting failed jobs and initiating corrective actions. Ensuring the security and accessibility of company data by managing and implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions. Works with Audit and Compliance teams to provide all necessary documentation for audits and disaster recovery plans. Ensure backup technology and hardware is updated with current security and bios updates. Responsible for assisting with server upgrades, server builds and updating virtualization hardware.
