Work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications may be substituted in lieu of formal education. - Knowledge of all technical calculations required for the safe operation of the drilling - Basic computer skills - Valid medical and vaccination certificate DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operations/Maintenance: - Ensure that the Driller is provided each tour with the Standing Instructions to Driller (SID) that is relevant to the planned operations - Authority I - Monitor the maintenance, repair and installation of all drilling equipment including repair, lubrication, maintenance records, and inventory levels - Authority I - Maintain records of inspections and certification of drilling equipment, tools and tubular - Authority I - Ensure the mud mixing systems and solid control equipment are being monitored constantly and properly maintained - Authority I - Relieve the Driller at the Driller’s console as operational requirement demands - Authority I - Partake in the daily operations meeting with the OIM, Senior Toolpusher and other rig department heads - Authority I - Monitor the application of the Company Rig Maintenance System (RMS) for drilling department maintenance tasks - Authority I - Review and approve all drilling-related Permit to Work as the responsible person for the task - Authority II - Supervise equipment preparation for impending drilling operations - Authority II - Assist in planning the job activities of the drilling department and associated activities - Authority II - Ensure that well control requirements are in place according to operational requirements; assist in supervising well-killing operations in an emergency situation - Authority II - Perform all well control calculations (i.e. mud weight increase, initial and final circulating pressures, number of strokes, etc.) - Authority II - Assist the Senior Toolpusher or OIM in coordinating the activities of third-party personnel responsible for various aspects of the well program and ensure that they understand Transocean policy and procedures related to the task and that they follow safety processes. - Authority II - Review the daily drilling operations report in the Global Management System (GMS) for accuracy and approve accordingly - Authority II - Prepare Requisition Purchase Orders for equipment or parts necessary to keep the drilling operation free of downtime. Assist in ensuring that sufficient stock of parts and materials are maintained - Authority II - Assist in the planning, organization and supervision of rig move operations - Authority II - Maintain proper communication with the Senior Toolpusher and OIM regarding the progress of drilling and associated operations - Authority II - Recommend adjustments to drilling parameters as necessary to improve the overall drilling operation’s performance - Authority III - Promote and maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, third-party personnel and Customer Representatives - Authority III QHSE: - - Inform the Senior Toolpusher or the OIM of any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations - Authority I - Actively participate in safety meetings, FOCUS Improvement Process, and all other safety processes in the Safety Management System - Authority I - Incorporate the THINK process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team - Authority I - Participate in the START process - Authority I - Ensure that subordinate personnel are properly trained to perform START observations and monitoring - Authority I - Ensure that DROPS inspections are conducted as per the rig’s DROPS inspection program - Authority II - Call a Time Out for Safety (TOFS) whenever an unplanned hazard or a change in the expected results is observed - Authority I - Demonstrate commitment to Company safety policies through the consistent application of leadership and guidance - Authority I - Ensure that effective well control drills are carried out regularly and recorded - Authority I - Ensure that a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained onboard the rig - Authority I Personnel: - - Meet the training requirements according to the applicable training matrix - Authority I - Participate fully in the annual performance appraisal process - Authority I - Mentor, coach, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level - Authority II - Provide leadership and motivation to rig personnel. Ensure that continuous improvement is applied routinely - Authority I - Ensure that all subordinates receive an annual performance appraisal.
