As a Manager of Volunteer Services at Transitions Care you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing all volunteer program activities. You will support the volunteer program design, build a robust team and support all levels of connectivity at our growing office locations. This position will recruit, train, develop and support the Volunteers to ensure we are providing the most robust support to our patients. The Manager of Volunteer Services will travel locally within the Midwest as required (less than 10%).

The Manager will be responsible for:

  • Training and developing volunteer coordinators across the organization
  • Leads the program in compliance with all state and federal regulations as it pertains to hospice volunteer programs
  • Develops and maintains volunteer training and orientation programming
  • Recruits educates and selects volunteers from at least 3 recruitment events per year
  • Establishes a need to volunteer services with the patient and family/caregiver and entire hospice team
  • Trains supervises and evaluates volunteers in a timely fashion
  • Maintains monthly statistics as it pertains to the volunteer program success ensuring compliance with all state and federal guidelines
  • Partners with the local teams to ensure the utilization of volunteers stays in line with accreditation requirements
  • Reevaluates volunteer program periodically throughout the year
  • Coordinate and lead support and educational meeting for the Team Assistants and Volunteers to ensure the program runs smoothly
  • Provides information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services
  • Participates as needed in the budget preparation for program development
  • Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities
  • Accepts and performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or related field required
  • 2 years of experience in healthcare setting
  • Hospice or Volunteer coordination experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hospice philosophy
  • Ability to organize and develop volunteers and personnel for both patient and organizational needs
  • Ability to effectively communicate to leaders at all levels of the organization
