TransducerWorks, LLC is Hiring an Acoustic Materials Manager Near Centre Hall, PA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Participating in long and short term acoustic materials department decisions to ensure efficiency and compliance; using product specifications and release dates to determine resource needs.
  • Working closely with the Planning Manager, Supervisors, Production Manager, Pre-production Manager and Manufacturing Operations Director to establish and to meet established dates, as well as document and improve the Acoustic Materials product’s yield, in collaboration with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
  • Working closely with the Product Development/Technology Development teams to establish and to meet established dates for Acoustic Materials’ prototypes products.
  • Remaining responsible for Acoustic Materials related communication flow and coordination between all resources committed to each product.
  • Ensuring effective employee relations; providing employee coaching and development; making employment decisions; resolving employee issues through problem resolution
  • Balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas; working to continuously improve in all areas
  • Managing departmental performance measures by participating in the analysis of product nonconformities and improvement plans. Achieving outlined improvement plan objectives in coordination with all necessary/related departments. Providing Manufacturing Operations Director with regular progress reports on the outlined improvement plan.
  • Participating in the employee recruitment process and guiding Supervisors in the implementation and management of employee training.
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of the production process and working conditions, by encouraging suggestions from the production staff.
  • Providing leadership to supervisor(s) and employees
  • Maintaining proper inventory levels
  • Managing department priorities
  • Evaluating Acoustic Materials Supervisors’ individual performance per company policy

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Experience in and/or in-depth knowledge of all aspects of manufacturing.
  • 5 years’ experience in all aspects of acoustic materials manufacturing
  • 5-10 years required experience minimum in manufacturing operations including: management of people, process implementation and improvement, safety, and quality measures.
  • Previous experience in diplomatically and confidentially managing and supervising employees, including employee hiring and retention, performance reviews and employee development, and discipline; a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Must be experienced in improving working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost) in a manufacturing environment and increase subordinates' skills and capabilities.
  • Previous experience in developing practical plans for the above and discussing them with manager.
  • Must be able to assist Manufacturing Operations Director in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control, and performance management.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span, prepare practical action plans to achieve results and execute prepared plans.
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail
  • Previous experience in inventory management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a strong team-building skills
  • An ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exemplary work ethic and practices. Strong desire to lead by example.
