TransCore (TCI), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Systems Administrator to join our team in Missouri.

The ideal candidate must reside and be able to travel specifically in and around and between St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield regions, depending on project needs. Applicants in these areas are encouraged to apply.

Job Summary: Support, troubleshoot, and configure network and physical/virtual server infrastructure; troubleshooting and integration of devices into an ATMS - Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, Variable Message Signs (VMS), Ramp Meters, Vehicle Detection Equipment, and third-party data services; and support of users of TransCore’s TransSuite ATMS (Advanced Traffic Management System). This position may include any aspect of systems administration, including supporting the listed device types, additional device types, and new software or hardware. This position provides remote and on-site technical support to both customers and in-house staff on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. It serves as a customer contact on technical and system-related issues and problems. As work is performed, this position may be responsible for preparing reports per established procedures for internal or customer use and use such reports in analysis of equipment failure trends and service ability issues. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Install/Configure/Test equipment including but not limited to network switches, firewalls, routers, servers, and other data center equipment, 
• Configure/troubleshoot equipment including but not limited to network switches, firewalls, routers, servers, other data center equipment, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, Variable Message Signs, Ramp Meters, and Vehicle Detection Equipment, 
• Perform system checks of software and devices,
• Provide end-user support on TransCore products and services, 
• Provide on-site and remote technical support for customers, 
• Prepare reports for internal or external use, 
• Work with vendor support to resolve advanced issues with devices or software, 
• Coordinate with clients and perform tasks according to their specifications and requirements, 
• Driving is a requirement as this position will be travelling to client sites.

Education: 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 5 years of related experience.
• Preferable – Network, server, or systems administration certifications 

Required Skills & Experience: 

• Intermediate understanding of LAN/WAN networks using a variety of devices from different vendors, fiber optics, and video communications, 
• Experience in managing physical and virtual servers, 
• Experience in managing Windows Server and Linux operating systems, 
• Experience with task automation using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or equivalents, 
• Wireless network knowledge, 
• Strong troubleshooting skills, 
• Experience in troubleshooting edge network / SCADA devices such as, but not limited to, CCTV, VMS, ramp meters, vehicle detectors, or similar, 
• Ability to work with end users and customers on technical topics, 
• Ability to learn features of unfamiliar software packages with documentation, 
• Experience with the use of Microsoft Office products.

Other Requirements: 

• Technical degree preferred or equivalent experience, 
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, 
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, 
• Ability to lift 50 pounds,
• Ability to use tools common in data centers to install equipment, 
• Willing to occasionally travel throughout the Midwest United States for work assignments.
