Trane Technologies plc is Hiring an Equipment specialist Near Sioux Falls, SD

Trane in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is hiring an Applications Specialist (Equipment). In this role, you will be responsible for the equipment portion of various projects including validating the equipment selection, pricing, discounts, and submittal processes of the equipment portion of projects as required and will be accountable for the strategy and performance achievement of the specific budget objectives.

This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule and will be based out of our Sioux Falls location. Flexible work from home options are available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize and validate HVAC equipment by selecting the appropriate size, configuration, voltage, and options, based on review of plans, specifications, original estimate, and proposal.
  • Evaluate potential cost savings and identify any cost-related issues that may arise during project execution.
  • Validate project scope by reviewing transition documents, plans, and specifications, identifying cost savings and potential problems, planning EQ / VPP dollar breaks, and confirming quantities and configurations.
  • Provide support to the sales team by developing preliminary and final submittals as required. Facilitate consensus meetings on job cost and submittal release, making any necessary adjustments.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and maintain a competitive advantage. Optimize expenses by negotiating prices with vendors for materials.
  • Prepare accurate equipment orders, verify pricing, and revise coordination worksheets. Reconcile job costs to ensure accuracy.
  • Offer technical support, post-order closure, assisting with equipment installation process and ensuring customer satisfaction.

This includes providing support for new equipment, start-up, warranty service, and controls equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in project management or estimating roles within the HVAC industry, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and / or temperature controls is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal work hours as required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to :
  • DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Base Pay Range : $70,000 - $100,000 / year

Disclaimer : This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
