Position Summary:

TRG is seeking candidates for a Learning Technology Associate or Learning Technology Specialist. 

Successful candidates will bring core skills and knowledge of technology to support learning, knowledge management and collaboration with a variety of clients. Specifically, they bring experience with the design and development of multimedia, graphics, interactive websites, and online learning (both synchronous and asynchronous). These products may be focused on achieving goals in learning, communications, and/or knowledge management. The selected candidate will work with both internal and external clients to identify learning needs and based on those needs design, develop, and implement the best mix of interventions to achieve results.

Primary Role and Responsibilities:

Work with TRG staff to design, implement, and evaluate technology-supported solutions for TRG clients including: 

    • Demonstrate the qualities and values of employee ownership by providing the highest level of customer service to the organization and clients, including participating in staff meetings, annual retreats, and other TRG events, committees, and workgroups.
    • Design and develop tailored multimedia products (e.g. videos, animations, podcasts, etc.).
    • Design and develop effective print and web-based learning, knowledge management and communications materials including providing graphic design and layout support for documents, PPT presentations, etc. by applying best practices in visual design.
    • Design and develop online learning courses and resources, following instructional design practices and processes and learning science research.
    • Lead or support webinar design and production for virtual, hybrid, or blended learning, communications, and meetings (using tools such as Adobe Connect, WebEx, Zoom, and/or GoToMeeting).
    • Provide recommendations to internal and external clients on the most effective tools and approaches to meet their needs.
    • Identify and apply best practices related to our learning technology work including areas such as eLearning, virtual classrooms, communications, knowledge management and multimedia.

Collaborate with your TRG colleagues to:

  • Contribute to and help to enhance internal team practices around knowledge management and communications.
  • Identify new opportunities for the use of technology to support TRG’s work.
  • Mentor and train other TRG staff to increase their familiarity and skills using technology tools .

 You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a part of a variety of teams
  • Ability to track and manage multiple tasks across different projects 
  • Demonstrated skill with programs in the Adobe Creative Suite, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition, InDesign, Edge Animate, or equivalent multimedia production and editing program
  • Demonstrated skills in instructional design for virtual and blended learning 
  • Demonstrated skills in graphic design, video production/editing, animation, and/or audio production to create learning, communications and knowledge management product 
  • Broad knowledge of technology trends and passion to continuously learn about and share technology tools and their appropriate application to learning 

Qualifications, Abilities, and Education Requirements:

 Basic Learning Technology Specialist Qualifications: 

  • A 4-year college degree or graduate degree in instructional design, e-learning, adult learning, educational technology, graphic design, multimedia production or other related degree or certificate programs and 2-4 years’ experience, or 5 years’ relevant experience.

Basic Learning Technology Associate Qualifications: 

  • A 4-year college degree or graduate degree in graphic design, multimedia production, instructional design, e-learning, adult learning, educational technology, or other related degree or certificate programs with 1-2 years’ professional experience; or 5 years’ relevant professional experience in lieu of education.

Preferred Skills: 

    • Experience in both public and private sectors
    • Prior experience working in international settings including developing countries
    • Understanding of Section 508 compliance
    • Understanding of, or experience, with the following:
      • Learning and content management system development and administration (g. Moodle, Talent LMS, Google Sites, Squarespace)
      • E-Learning development using rapid authoring tools (g. Articulate Storyline, Rise, and/or Adobe Captivate)
      • Collaboration platforms and knowledge management processes, tools and approaches
  • Familiarity with U.S. government contracting.
  • Prior experience with USAID or USAID contracts.
  • Experience with teleconferencing/webinar platforms such as Google Meet, Zoom, Adobe Connect, and MS Teams.

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasionally may have to lift up to 15 pounds.
