Job Title: ITSFM Technician

As part of the Corporate Project Controls Team, the ITSFM Technician assists our project offices across the State of Florida with all aspects of the ITSFM deliverable on qualified FDOT projects.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Perform field geospatial data location collection.
  • Develop the required data exports and forms for a complete submittal to satisfy our contractual requirements.
  • Record field data from project sites.
  • Assist with the review and validation of the deliverables prepared by other team members to ensure adherence to FDOT policies and procedures.
  • Perform assignments that are semi-routine in nature but able to adapt to deviations from accepted procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook & Excel).
  • Familiar with ITSFM Standards to ensure documentation deliverables are populated with the correct project-related information and able to follow the standard FDOT ITSFM naming convention.
  • Ability to interpret field notes and plan markups from Project Managers to determine any plan changes.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to diagnose and validate ITSFM deliverables from remote offices to determine errors in documentation.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but can be substituted with appropriate work experience
  • FDOT ITSFM GPS & Mapping Certification (Preferred)
  • IMSA Technician Level 1 (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in field data collection or utility locating
  • Practical experience with electronics/technology hardware
  • Experience with Trimble Geo7x Device with Laser Rangefinder attachment

Pre-Screen

Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

  • A Driver s License is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • RARE (less than 10%): climbing poles
  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs.
  • FREQUENT (up to 66%): stooping, squatting, body-twisting, climbing on/off the truck, gripping, reading.
  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): manual dexterity, standing, walking, sense of touch, speaking clearly, seeing distant, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., seeing, reaching, range of motion, hearing-speech range, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.
