Job Description

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE / ROLE:

Tradewind Aviation is currently seeking a Sr Manager of FP&A to join a dynamic Finance team in our Oxford, Connecticut Corporate office. This position is a critical role that will be tasked with analyzing the performance of the business, budgeting and forecasting, financial planning, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing financial models and performing ad hoc analysis as requested. Partnering with key stakeholders, the Manager will provide actionable insights and recommendations on business strategy and critical business decisions. This individual should have an inquisitive and analytic approach to finding solutions to business problems and be comfortable interacting with all levels and roles in the organization working cross-functionally. This role will interact regularly with Executive and Senior Leadership teams of Tradewind Aviation to present findings and discuss monthly analytic insight on overall business and P&L performance. 

The role will supervise one individual contributor, a Financial Analyst.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and manage annual budget process and monthly/quarterly forecasting process
  • Build, maintain and update company’s five-year financial model
  • Lead monthly budget meeting with budget owners including variance analysis of actual to budget and reforecasting as needed; Join forces with leadership and business teams to instill ownership and accountability of financial results
  • Willingness to partner with budget owners to provide insightful analysis into budget variances and provide ad hoc analysis 
  • Report financial results regularly; Own the cadence of reporting and routine meetings to discuss.
  • Develop and drive financial education and partnership with all levels of Team Members throughout the business
  • Provide decision support including business case development, ROI assessments and prioritization of various efforts and investments
  • Identify revenue generating or cost saving opportunities; Partner with the Commercial team on the company’s overall pricing strategy
  • Conduct productivity analysis and collaborate on staffing plans
  • Streamline finance process for timelier and more accurate financial information
  • Coordinate and lead in the development and maintenance of financial planning and analysis systems 
  • Ad hoc financial Analysis

Requirements

 Qualifications:

· 7 years of experience working in finance/FP&A

· Airline industry experience a plus

· Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

· ERP Experience (Sage Intacct experience a plus)

· Data query experience using SQL, and other statistical analytics tools is a plus

· Strong communication skills

· Demonstrated ability to build cross functional relationships and influence teams

· Strong partner and influencer throughout the business. 

· Highly motivated in areas of troubleshooting and problem solving

· Highly organized and self-starter, deep attention to detail

· Able to work both individually and as a team, positive attitude, professional and pleasant phone manner

· Willingness to learn new skills and adaptable to procedural changes

· On site position in Oxford, CT

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or another quantitative field or related discipline 

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Must be able to lift 15 lbs. at times
