Job Description:

Tracery Stone is a growing fabricator, supplier, and installer, with a varied selection of stone for architectural purposes. We are able to design, supply and install all In-House. We supply the south east with quality stone products including: Architectural Limestone, Limestone Veneer, Limestone Countertops,
Custom Limestone Sinks, Bluestone, Field Stone, and Sandstone. We are seeking to expand our
Drafting Department to meet the increasing demands that comes with growth.

As a Drafting Designer you will work closely with our Team to develop accurate and clear shop drawings for manufacturing, fabrication, and installation. Your daily duties could include designing products based on architectural plans or inspirational photographs, creating accurate drawings using AutoCAD for manufacturing and installation, creating a cutlist from shop drawings for manufacturing, modeling using
AutoCAD, creating a library of shop drawings for the sales department to reference. If you are a drafting designer with field measuring experience you will work with clients to get accurate measurements that will be used to make shop drawings.

This is an office-based position that will be on-site at our location in Birmingham, AL. You will work in a shared office with two drafters and our CNC programmer. You will work closely with various departments to meet customer deadlines and supply models for the CNC machine.

Requirements:

● Associate’s degree for drafting or equivalent experience

● Proficient in the use of 2D AutoCAD

● Proficient in the use of 3D AutoCAD (prefered)

● The ability to work in fast past deadline intensive environment

● Basic knowledge of standard measuring instruments i.e tape measure, architectural scale, etc.

● Strong math skills

● Detail oriented and well organized, with the ability to multitask

● Strong computer skills to navigate and operate preferred team based work management software
(Asana)

Responsibilities:

● Convert architectural plans into workable shop drawings using industry standards

● Design custom product based on customer inspiration images and requirements

● Create detailed manufacturing drawings for production and fabrication

● Create comprehensive setting drawing for mason teams, both in-company and external

● Create models using 3D AutoCAD for CNC programing

● Populate Excel spreadsheets to create detailed cut-list

● Import cut-list into nesting software to create slab sheets

● Measure inventory to create drawings for sales team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
