Trace Die Cast, Inc., is searching for an Automation Controls Technician in Bowling Green, KY.

Trace Die Cast, Inc. is a family-owned company and has been offering technology driven high-pressure die casting solutions for the global automotive industry for over 35 years.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Ensure all robotics and automation systems within the manufacturing facility are functioning properly to meet production requirements.
• Install, program, and maintain all robotics and automation systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair robotics systems and peripheral equipment.
• Maintain all systems and software updates, programs, and backups.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Assist with the design and planning of new robotics and automation systems.
• Assist Maintenance troubleshoot and repair other industrial equipment as needed.
• Develop and conduct on-site training classes regarding robotics and automation equipment for other company personnel.
• Attend periodic on and off-site training courses for continual education for related equipment and technology.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:

• 2 year or greater post-secondary education program in automation, electrical controls, or other related area -or- 3 years or greater directly related work experience or apprenticeship.
• Certifications in Fanuc, Rockwell, Alen Bradley, PLCs, or related preferred.

Essential Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of PLC ladder logic and configuration.
• Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
• Ability to maintain and configure Variable Frequency Driver (VFD), DC drives, and servo motors.
• Excellent computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.
• Very well organized with the ability to multi-task.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to communicate with people of all levels of the organization professionally.
• Must be able to work independently and prioritize work.
• Must be flexible within pattern of shift work to accommodate factory shut down, training courses, and provide support during emergent issues.
• Must be available to work assigned shift including 2nd or 3rd shift.
• Must be willing to travel as needed for training courses or to meet with venders.
• Flexibility to adjust to the role as it evolves.
