What are we looking for?
truHealthNow Urgent Care has an immediate need for caring, experienced, certified Medical Assistants to join our growing clinical team in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Primary Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for performing duties related to the clinical area: taking patient vitals, assisting physicians as requested, performing and assisting with all duties related to laboratory testing and specimen collection, and assisting with front office and administrative tasks as requested.
1. Performs and assists with all duties related to patient care.
2. Performs and assists with all duties related to laboratory testing and specimen collection.
3. Maintains appropriate manuals, logs, filing systems, and other communications regarding radiology and laboratory.
4. Ensures compliance with OSHA, CLIA and State of Virginia mandates and regulations.
5. Obtains continuing education units to maintain qualifications.
6. Performs and assists with EKGs.
7. Performs BAT and urine drug screens.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Medical assistant certification. Spanish Speaking preferred.
2. Experience as a medical assistant in a physician office setting or ambulatory care setting; minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience is required.
3. Acquired phlebotomy skills and knowledge of various specimen collection techniques.
4. Thorough knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA and State of Maryland Radiological protocol and procedures.
5. Certification in CPR.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills, effective verbal communication and writing skills.
7. Customer service-oriented attitude and behavior.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs clinical procedures as requested by the Physicians.
2. Cleans all medical equipment as necessary after each examination.
3. Collects necessary data to provide safe diagnostic testing.
4. Maintains a log and/ or filing system for all procedures performed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
