TPC Network is Hiring an Equipment Operator II Near Duluth, GA

TPC Sugarloaf offers 27 holes of private golf designed by Greg Norman located within the gated community of Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth, Georgia. TPC Sugarloaf’s featured 18 holes, The Stables and The Meadows, are accented by tree-lined Zoysia fairways, Bermuda grass greens, streams, lakes, and hills. TPC Sugarloaf also features The Pines course, a third nine that is slightly shorter in distance, but every bit as compelling as the original pair. The Equipment Operator II has been specifically trained to operate specialized equipment and/or to perform specific tasks relative to the maintenance of the golf course grounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Must have 6 months experience as an Equipment Operator I or at least one year of experience in golf course operations or similar position
  • Education in turfgrass management, or related field, may be substituted for work experience requirement

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Perform all duties and/or tasks relative to the Equipment Operator I position
  • Maintain logs for the operation, maintenance, and gas usage of each machine
  • Perform daily tasks necessary to keep the maintenance facility clean, organized, and safe
  • Clean machinery after each use
  • Inspect all machines and report any deficiencies to the Equipment Technician
  • Perform other functions and routine golf course maintenance activities as directed by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent I or Assistant Golf Course Superintendent II
  • Be thoroughly trained for the procedures at each task prior to performing task
  • Follow the guidelines in the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual for each specific task
  • Perform specific tasks related to the Operator I and II training including the following:
  • Tri-plex mow tees
  • Tri-plex mow approaches
  • Tri-plex mow fairway collar
  • Tri-plex mow rough
  • Aerify greens and tees
  • Spike greens
  • Vertical mow greens and tees
  • Mechanical top dress greens and tees
  • Operate sod cutter
  • Mechanical bunker raking
  • Drainage Installation and repair
  • Required to wear personal protective clothing and/or use protective equipment to comply with established safety operating standards
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 50 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
