Responsibilities and Duties:

• Job takeoffs and pricing.
• Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Stays current with all estimating software and attends training as needed and/or required.
• Works with VP of Estimating to develop estimating spreadsheets.
• Works with VP of Estimating to ensure smooth and timely project turnover from Estimating to Project Management.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience/Qualifications Required:
• 5 years commercial experience in plumbing or heating estimation, or completion of approved apprenticeship program and 3 years experience as a Journeyman.
• 1 -2 years prior estimating experience.
• Job Skills:
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Knowledge of general plumbing, piping, sheet metal, HVAC, or fire protection (as assigned)
• Good math ability
• Good computer skills (knowledgeable with Microsoft Excel, Word, & Outlook).
• Detail oriented.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to learn new systems and technologies.
• Estimation and/or Quicken experience preferred.
• Education:
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Journeyman Plumber license or equivalent experience.
• Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent experience.
• Physical Requirements:
• Eyesight correctable to 20/50.
• Capable of job site tours, climbing ladders and on/off equipment, etc.
• Special Requirements:
• Valid Driver’s License.

Experience

• 3 year(s): completion of approved Apprenticeship program and 3 years' experience as a Journeyman
• 5 year(s): plumbing or heating estimation
