Title: Sales Project Manager

Location: Sales Support Team

Reports to: Sales Support Team Manager

Status: Non-Exempt - Base plus bonus plan

Works with: Sales Engineers, Sales Administrators, Service Department, Parts Department, Customers, and Vendors.

Job Summary: Support the Sales Engineers with plan-and-spec estimating and project management expertise. Position consists of take-offs of HVAC equipment, order write-ups, submittal preparation, order-entry and project management. Role will support Sales Engineers with Mechanical Engineers designing Trane specified jobs.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully; an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to multi-task in high-stress situations. Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by phone and through written communication. Must be proficient with use of the telephone and voice mail, the computer, and other office equipment. Must be adept in use of MS Office, the Internet and e-mail. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Configure, select and price HVAC and controls equipment.

* Generate proposals.

* Generate submittals.

* Project-manage sold projects to successful and timely turnover to Sale Coordinators.

* Provide technical support.

* Prioritizes workload and requests to ensure customer and employee satisfaction are delivered.

* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.

* Prepares reports and correspondence and maintains files.

* Arrange and participate in meetings, conferences, and project team activities.

* Operate a variety of standard office machines, including a personal computer and a variety of computer software, phone, and fax, calculator, shredding machine and copy machine.

* Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between customers/suppliers/visitors/enquirers and relevant staff, and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions. Provide accurate and timely information.

* Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.

* Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role. Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.

* Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of equipment.

* Other responsibilities as required.

* Able to work extended hours when required

Personality: Must be able to multi-task, openly communicate, work well with others and carry a positive attitude. Mature, credible and comfortable in dealing with customers and vendors. Reliable, tolerant and determined. Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view. Able to get along with others and be a team player.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering highly preferred. Knowledge of HVAC equipment and controls a plus.

Personal Situation: Able to commute reliably to office base. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required.
