Who we're looking for

The Manager, Financial Management & Program Management Office will play a pivotal role in supporting and running the day-to-day TFS Chief Product Officer (CPO) organization, covering financial management, resource management, vendor management, program and project management, and strategic prioritization planning functions.

This includes managing or integrating with the management systems and governance procedures to effectively administer the CPO organization, with close partnership with many different stakeholders in TFS and broader Toyota. This role is expected to act as a leader and key administrator for CPO and to engage with senior IDS and Corporate leaders to ensure effective management and governance of CPO financials, people, partners, projects, and more.

This multifaceted role combines executive-level support, cross-organization interactions, financial management, resource management, vendor management, program and project management, and strategic prioritization planning as expected by central finance and enterprise enablement functions, ensuring alignment with enterprise planning and governance protocols, and optimizing spend, talent, and execution capabilities of the CPO organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CPO Financial and Resource Management
    • Develop and maintain the CPO resource management strategy with a holistic view of the target state, identify areas to optimize capacity, spend, suppliers, roles, and talent, execute domain-level transition roadmaps in partnership with IDS leaders, and govern the processes to effectively control the flow of resources through the organization.
    • Manage the intake of new resource requests through the CPO organization, partnering with hiring managers and business management to ensure all decisions are within budget and in alignment with the holistic resource management strategy. Provide proxy approval on behalf of the CPO.
    • Partnering with vendor management, manage CPO domains related vendors and complex relationships with on-site vendor managers and implement opportunities to optimize vendor contracts, including spend, terms and conditions of our software and professional services.
    • Partnering with business management and corporate finance, administer financial aspects of CPO's product delivery organization, including assist Domain budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Implement financial reporting and systems enhancements to improve domain leadership ability to effectively manage their portfolio spend.
    • Analyze cost optimization opportunities and support strategies for cost reduction, cost optimization implementation and monitoring their effectiveness.
    • Direct key elements of the enterprise strategic planning and prioritization process in partnership with business management, corporate finance, and enterprise enablement, including capacity planning and modeling, executive reporting, and supporting overall communications and program management.
    • Ensure the CPO organization builds OKR-aligned backlogs, develops, and executes achievable capacity plans, and utilizes the management systems to effectively manage its approved portfolio.
    • Align CPO delivery portfolio and investment plan with TFS technology products portfolio strategy, and capabilities, and Application Portfolio Management (APM) practice.
  • CPO Program Management Office (PMO)
    • Assist the implementation of standardized project management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices. Ensure adherence to project governance structures across all delivery projects.
    • Support the governance and execution of CPO programs and projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Oversee and execute special projects on behalf of the CPO organization, coordinating activities across the leadership team to ensure the required outcomes are achieved.

    • Centralize financial management, resource management, and PMO responsibilities for the CPO organization with a single leader.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Progressive experience in leadership, enterprise technology and operation experience including:
    • Highly preferred experience in top-tier relevant banking industry, consulting, or large financial institution experience,
    • Experience with IT business management (planning, forecast and cost optimization, resource management) responsibilities,
    • Experience in portfolio management and managing significant programs/projects for technology and/or business management functions.
  • Strong experience in financial and resource management planning, analysis, modeling, reporting, and governance.
  • Strong experience in strategic planning, portfolio roadmap, prioritization, and execution models.
  • Change management and organizational transformation experience.
  • Executive level communication skills including strong negotiation/facilitation/presentation skills.

  • Extensive understanding of business management and portfolio management capabilities and operating models, especially in technology organizations of large financial institutions.
  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver technology business management solutions.
