Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Type: Hourly Non-Exempt

Department: Transportation Job Code: 8810

Supervisor: VP of Pre-Owned Sales/Rental Fleet Mgr./Logistics Mgr.

Shift: 6:30am – 3:30pm

Job Summary:

Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.

Job Responsibilities

· Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials

· Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes

· Contact carrier representative to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.

· Confer or correspond with company representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.

· Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.

· Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.

· Pack, seal, label or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.

· Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.

· Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped

Job Qualifications:

· 3-5 years’ experience in Shipping and Receiving.

· Experience in the Material Handling Industry preferred.

· High school diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

· Experience with material handling equipment; including forklifts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts.

· Ability to work safely.

· Good interpersonal communications skills

· Must be reliable, able to follow directions, get along with co-workers/management personnel and report to work on time.
