Responsible for the component releasing, supplier follow up and inventory control.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Communicate component material demand to suppliers via weekly releases and daily shipping schedules.
2. Follow up with suppliers concerning back-ordered schedules, shipping errors, production demand fluctuations, and inventory cycle loss.
3. Schedule production for those sub-assemblies shipped to out-side service providers, and communicate the processed requirements via weekly release and daily shipping schedules.
4. Communicate to the Shipping Supervisor weekly supplier pick up needs for contracted "milk run" carriers and Toyo Seat-owned trucking for those suppliers shipping by such means.
5. Monitor supplier performance and encourage improvement through the use of departmental forms and/or reporting methods (i.e., Delivery Non-Conformance Report).
6. Perform regular cycle counts of components and sub-assemblies, and random inventory audits as necessary.
7. Monitor component inventory levels and make periodic, necessary adjustments to system parameters to achieve company inventory goals and maintain adequate turnover ratio.
8. Take an active role in annual physical inventory counts and process all reports as required by accounting.
9. Maintain and process monthly departmental reports and charts as assigned by the Materials Manager. (i.e., MOP reports).
10. Assist with new part/program launches and engineering changes as they pertain to the materials department.
11. Assist with the process of receiving incoming shipments when necessary.
12 Follow and promote company safety standards to ensure a safe work environment.
13. Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Materials Manager or designate.
Qualifications and Skills
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred, with courses in inventory management.
Knowledge: Working knowledge of material/component parts inventory systems preferred. Good oral and written communication skills are required. Excellent computer skills is a must.
Experience with CMS is a major advantage
Experience: 1-2 years in a similar position, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
