TownePlace Suites Marriot Hotel is Hiring an Event Coordinator Near Joliet, IL

Flexible Day Time Scheduling (Start and/or End Time)

Flexible Schedule 3 - 4 days per week, 10 - 20 hours per week depending on work tasks

Summary

Functions as administrative assist to Area Director of Sales. Coordinates client event details post-contract through menu selection, banquet orders, floor plan diagrams, event materials support and assists with communications between sales department and operation department. Supports sales efforts in entering, retrieving and reconciling information into the company's CRM and PMS. May be asked to join or conduct client meetings for lead data discovering and/or final detailing.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to emails from internal team members and external clients
  • Using hotel PMS to build group hotel room blocks
  • Collecting rooming lists and entering reservations for group hotel room blocks, reconciling payments, tracking group pick up
  • Managing event calendars for operations team
  • Completing banquet event orders and floor plan diagrams• Placing and confirming orders with vendors for contracted events
  • Assisting in communications to operations team leads
  • Ability to work within timelines and meet deadlines

Qualifications

  • Education or current degree in Business, Sales, or Marketing
  • 1 Year Previous Hotel Operations or Hotel Sales Experience Preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to establish and maintain positive and effective communications with other team members, clients, vendors, or other third parties and within the community.

•Strong knowledge of appropriate English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and word usage. Ability to communicate concepts, thoughts, and ideas, both written and verbal, to others.

•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook and has ability to learn and utilize other company software such as CRM and PMS.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
