Description
GENERAL DEFINITION:
Provide training and conditioning opportunities using methods, practices, and techniques of delivering programs to paying customers.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is primarily sedentary work, occasionally requiring movement about the facility, requiring the exertion of up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work requires reaching, fingering, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work; on rare occasion, may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
General knowledge of aquatics, water safety rules, first aid practices and techniques; ability to enforce rules in a tactful and effective manner; ability to effectively lead an aquatic team; ability to remain calm under pressure/stress/in emergency situations; ability to always present a professional appearance and attitude; ability to use a computer; effective communication skills; time management skills; ability to work flexible schedule to include opening and closing shifts as well as weekend shifts.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of related work experience in a customer service position involving contact with the public; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Active interest in health and wellness preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND DISCLAIMER:
Special Requirements Must possess satisfactory results of a criminal history background check and Prehistory check. Must be willing to work a very flexible work schedule; nights, days and weekends to meet facility needs. Must have Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Current CPR and First Aid Certifications. Must be 18 years or older.
