The Town’s nursing facility, Our Island Home, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide and oversee direct patient care to the residents of the Islands only nursing home.
Our Island Home is a 45-bed skilled nursing facility dually licensed in Medicaid and Medicare and owned by the Town of Nantucket. The Resident population is diverse in not only heritage but origin of location.

You must be currently licensed in MA and be in good physical and mental health. Completion of an accredited nurse licensure program is required; you must comply with the regulations of the MA Department of Public Health. Prior work experience in long-term care preferred, but not required.

Education and Experience:
The Charge Nurse shall be currently licensed in Massachusetts and must be in good physical and mental health. Completion of an accredited nurse licensure program or if licensed by waiver, she/he must comply with regulations of D.P.H. Completion of an accredited nurse licensure program or license that complies with all appropriate D.P.H. regulations. Prior work experience in the healthcare field is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and/or move objects no less than 50 pounds. More intensive physical effort may be necessary to assist with residents when needed. Requires frequent heavy lifting. Involves standing, sitting and/or walking for the greater portion of the workday. Mental and physical fitness is required for completing the tasks involved in the position.
