Description
Performs difficult skilled trades work supervising and participating in the preventative maintenance, repair, and cleaning of parks and Town facilities, vehicles, and equipment, identifying and addressing maintenance needs, enforcing OSHA safety standards, and related work as required. This position is designated as essential during emergency or disaster situations. Work is performed under the general direction of the Facilities Superintendent. Full supervision is exercised over subordinate crew members.

This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking, hearing, and using hands to finger, handle or feel; work occasionally requires sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions; work requires standard vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arm’s length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment, and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires work near moving mechanical parts, work in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, vibration, and exposure to blood borne pathogens; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. use of power tools, construction equipment, light traffic).
