Cary Tennis Park is seeking a bright, upbeat, and organized individual to join our team as a Program Assistant I. In this position, you will play an essential role providing program support for tennis and pickleball programs and marketing support for Cary Tennis Park events. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Tennis Services Coordinator and Head Tennis Professional.
This is a part-time, non-benefited, year-round position, up to 20 hours a week, with a maximum of 999 hours per year.
Assists with the coordination of marketing and graphic design needs for professional tennis tournaments;
Reviews print and web-based materials for public distribution;
Creates, edits, and coordinates printing of brochures, flyers, posters, and advertisements;
Provides support for Cary Tennis Park programs, including but not limited to email support, program creation, and general administrative support;
Assist with recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers for programs;
Performs general office duties such as copying, filing, and record maintenance;
Assists with special events and programs;
Maintains tennis park photo library;
Performs other job-related tasks as necessary.
Requires general knowledge of marketing and web design; knowledge of computers and related software; strong organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; ability to acquire knowledge of policies, procedures and services of the division and department.
Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, marketing, recreation or related field.
Prefers some experience working in public relations or communications.
Prefers some experience with website maintenance or website design.
Conditions of Employment
Requires drug testing and background check (which may include criminal check, education verification and credit history review) prior to employment.
Requires possession of a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
