Town Administrator Job Opening
The Town of Blandford, Massachusetts is seeking a collaborative, dynamic full-time Town Administrator. Blandford, (pop. approx. 1,215) one of the Gateway Hilltown communities and located in western Hampden County in the foothills of the Berkshires, has a $4.5 million budget. The full-time Highway Department and otherwise part-time staff are supported by contracted municipal financial services and many volunteers. Bisected by the Massachusetts Turnpike and home to Greater Springfield’s drinking water supply lands, this rural community boasts an abundance of scenic beauty and natural resources in close proximity to the city of Westfield, MA.
The position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the overall operations of Town government and managing the day-to-day affairs under the general direction of the three-member Select Board.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, business administration or a related field with a master’s degree preferred; minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Salary range is $65,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience and training. Excellent benefits are offered.
